Hello community, is anyone going to attend ATM in Dubai?
I will accompany a group of tour operators from Serbia, Bulgaria and Slovakia to Dubai. It is a fam trip organized by Dubai Tourism and we will attend ATM on May 2 and May 3. As a freelancer, I would like to take this opportunity to meet during ATM some interesting, similar-minded freelancers from the travel industry or travelers. I have been searching for new professional connections, interesting projects etc.

Hi Monika, are the tour operators from the mentioned countries outgoing or incoming companies? I am planning to have a FAM trip to Armenia and Georgia this November at a cost, but I have lots of free services, so it would be almost FOC. I wonder if the operators you accompany would be interested in my region? Thanks.
Hello Nune, thank you for your reply. I am going to accompany outgoing TOs, who are hosted by Dubai Tourism, these are agents mainly interested in typical sea destinations and exotics, however they might check your offer as well. Sounds good.
We attended ATM in Dubai a few years ago and unfortunately found it to be quite ineffective. There was little interaction with decision-makers and the overall experience did not justify the cost of attending.
If you have the budget to spend on exhibitions, I would recommend attending events in London and Berlin, where there are more opportunities to connect with key players in the travel industry.
That being said, I hope you have a productive and enjoyable time in Dubai and are able to make some valuable connections with other freelancers and industry professionals at ATM.
Dear Alex, thank you for your feedback. I had a great time in Dubai and I made some valuable connections that might help me to navigate in my work life and also to get some potential business. However, it was mostly through other people I was traveling with that I got these connections. ATM gave me a lot of inspiration and energy to move forward with my dreams. I got some ideas and made some important decisions. I will definitely check other events in Europe as well. Thank you and good luck as well.

As a female, I feel uncomfortable going solo. God forbid something happened; I would be bound by their laws and cultural norms.
