Des here - team builder at Walk4Africa (W4A).
Our collective vision is to grow Africa's share of the outdoor (adventure) tourism market in support of the #AfricaAgenda2063 goals.
I am developing an outdoor event marketplace to boost sustainable tourism in Africa.
👉 You're invited to join the team as a co-founder in your (African) country.
We have co-founders in Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria, South Africa, and Tunisia. Algeria, Libya, and Mauritania are pending confirmation. Co-founders for the remaining 46 African states are actively being sought.
To help you decide (respond to this post), here's a brief Q&A:
Why is W4A re-launching as a marketplace?
Let's look at some stats (from futuremarketinsights.com):

🐘 Market statistics for the Africa continent as a whole is estimated at $112.2 million
😱 For Africa, this figure represent a market share of under 0.04%!
Why is Africa performing poorly?

My next trip will up to Bicheno in Tasmania (an hour's drive up the coast) to watch the "Bicheno Beams" laser light show. The soundtrack is streamed to your headphones so visitors don't disturb the local penguin colony. 🐧
More info here -> bichenobeams.com
Will you be able to actually see some penguins? Send some photos 🐧🐧🐧
I’m planning a week in Paris at the end of September. My daughter lives there and I use her as an excuse to visit 🇫🇷 I’m also planning to go “home” to the US in November to see family 🌵☀️
On my way to Kevo National Park - to be a reindeer - no mobile, no house, walking...:-) www.nationalparks.fi/kevo - 🇫🇮 💚
Can't wait to see some photos. Have a great time!
Starting in Saariselkä though, with this www.openfellbiking.com
I am in Armenia until October 2, then I will be going to Chad for a festival for a week. Having a lot of difficulties of where I will go after that with covid restrictions. Wish me luck!
You know Bansko is always open! Fall is a great time, winter even greater if you do winter sports. Enjoying hot springs and mountains? This is your place hah
I will be in Tallinn for the next week (29 Aug -03 Sept) as we prepare for our upcoming road trip across Eastern Europe with Global Convoy. We want to have a little meet up/launch for the trip so if anyone is in the area come say hi :) www.travelmassive.com/meetups/tallinn-coffee-morning-2864013297
Can't go further than 5k at the moment here :) Once things have opened up again though, Darwin is the next big trip planned.
I'm walking to different edges of my 5km radius each week
Good idea! When you get to the edge, do you just stare out longingly into the great beyond?
haha yes for a second, then I just want to go home because I'm unfit and tired
I understand that, sometimes there is no place like home!
Heading back to Mexico in a couple weeks for our annual house sit in San Pancho, Nayarit. 😊😊😊
Love Mexico! Just spent 4 months in Tulum, Bacalar and Valladolid! If curious on any of those, I share tons on my blog _ show!! Enjoy Nayarit!!!
Preparing to move to Mexico for the winter. Your blog will help me a lot! 🙏
Ooooh I LOVE that you spent so much time out there!
Hello fellow travelers and creators!
I am in Costa Rica right now in Osa Peninsula curious if anyone is here now and/or
El Salvador - I am headed there Sept 11th - 16th +
Honduras - Sept 16 to Oct 3
Would love to connect!
Might only be as close as London for me, but I'm still looking forward to getting back in the air! The media are not friendly to air travel in Ireland and a road trip doesn't stretch too far!
Planning 2 London trips from the states now. One of them is going on to Scotland. I will get there one day.
I'm going to Egypt (Cairo and Luxor) next week.
In Cape Cod this week, the Hamptons next weekend, and Portugal in October
I am on the Azores right now, taking a group of Danish hikers on a tour of 3 islands. Really nice to have travel and tourism going again. There are actually a fair number of foreign visitors on the islands right now.
Within India, I should be in Goa soon. Internationally, finally planning on visiting Dubai for Expo 2020. Anyone else planning for it? Looks incredible!
In Oct I will go on a 12 days gorilla tracking and wildlife safari here in my country Uganda and in December I will be traveling to Zimbabwe for 12 days of waterfalls, tribes and national parks
That sounds amazing!
Going to ports in Mexico, Pacific Coast, Caribbean and the Bahamas by cruises departing from USA
My next plan is a group Caribbean group to Hondurous, after that I want to go to either Greece or Italy. I am not sure which.
Let me know if you need pointers for Italy or Greece, visited both this year a few times and am happy to share my favorite places and contacts.
Taking my best friend to Hawaii: Oahu's North Shore and Maui, he has never been to HI, I haven't been in a LONG time and Maui is a first for me, too. So excited as this is the first vacation in what seems like forever. Maybe I should try to organize a meet-up?
I want to plan a big trip for my 30th birthday. On my shortlist are Mexico, Bahamas and Dominican Republic. I'd love to get feedback. It'd be my first time travelling to a country besides the US.
Mediterranean cruise to Italy, France and Spain this Summer 2022
I've been to South Korea several times but this will be my first exploring Jeju island! If anyone has tips for a solo traveller, drop them my way!
