About me

Hi, I'm Anne (she/her) 👋🏻 A full-time traveller, digital marketer, housesitter and paddleboarder.

I love a good brand and its stories. And my career has followed this, telling the stories of some of Canada's top brands through advertising, event management, public relations and social media for over ten years. A few awards even came along for the ride. #humblebrag

Now, I run Go Squab with my partner in life, adventure and business. As a digital consultancy, we manage the paid social, SEM and SEO needs of clients in travel & tourism, health & wellness, food & beverage, and a few other ampersands.

We also travel full time (📍currently in Slovenia), looking for off the beaten track adventures and small towns to live in like locals. Through it all, we try to minimize our impact, disperse our travel dollars and leave the world a little better than we found it.

What is your favorite travel destination?

Mexico, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Taiwan are all tops.

Where do you dream of traveling to?

Yukon, Nunavut & Northwest Territories

What was your first travel job?

Marketing, working with various destination + travel clients

What do you want to learn more about?

Food and culture from around the world, and especially how they intermingle

Three words that describe why we should travel?

Discovery, Understanding, Empathy

  • I love to eat and learn about regional dishes, and happily make travel decisions based on food. Last year that meant a month in Xalapa, Mexico just because I'd heard the coffee was good. (Highly recommend, by the way!) Otherwise, my partner and I both... show more

  • Loved Thessaloniki! Thanks for starting this thread, very much looking forward to responses. While I only visited, Orléans France seems like it could be a great place to stay a while. Easily connected to other places for day trips, lots of cute bars &... show more
