About me

Margarita Ibbott is a member of the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC) and Society of American Travel Writers (SATW - Canadian Chapter) and is the primary writer for DownshiftingPRO.com, a contributor to Sixty and Me and Hotel-Scoop.com. DownshiftingPRO is a luxury travel website whose focus is on travel for women 50+, family and multigenerational travel, and girls' getaways. With travel assignments in Colombia, Spain, France, Canada, and the United States, you can find some great travel advice on many things.

I have worked with DMOs and CVBs from the ProColombia, Quebec City Region, Quebec Maritime, Charlevoix, Saguenay/Lac St. Jean, Philadelphia, Clarksville & Franklin, TN, Saratoga Springs, NY, New Orleans, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Visit Florida, New York, Gulf Shores/Orange Beach and Huntsville, AL, Barcelona and Costa Brava, and Donegal, Ireland (many were TBEX FAMs).

I also work with other Canadian travel and lifestyle travel writers to create customized Girl's Getaway press trips with both PR firms and the DMOs that they represent.

You can find me on all channels under the username @DownshiftingPRO. I also have two Instagram accounts: DownshiftingPRO (lifestyle and travel) & DPROtravel (couple).
