Montagu is a town in the Western Cape province of South Africa, about 180 kilometres (110 mi) from Cape Town in the Western Little Karoo.
Here's a few fun facts about the town:
ð Montagu was founded on the farm "Uitvlugt" in 1851, and is known for its hot mineral springs, scenic mountains, orchards and vineyards.
â° The 1266 m high Bloupunt peak overlooks the village and offers several hiking trails, as well as kloofing and mountain biking trails further afield.
ð Montagu is near the Robertson Wine Valley, reached via the Route 62 scenic route.

This might be the happiest place in South Africa.
The best description I heard describing the town was from the tourism manager Mareletta: "What muscadel is in a bottle is a summary of what Montagu people are about. You see the bottle but once you open it that absolute sweetness makes it different to anything else".
I tried to capture the feeling of this town in the video. What do you think?
Great interviews and intro! Is the car available to hire? That would make for a great roadtrip!
They do tours to the wine farms in it, which is pretty cool. There is a company in Cape, Town City where you can hire classics to go touring.
This video gave me all sorts of feelings and transported me there, love it!
