Let’s Buy An Island (“LBI”) is an international community of like-minded investors and travellers committed to supporting a unique island environment. In late 2019 the community purchased Coffee Island in Belize, becoming the first group to successfully crowd source buying an island.
The Principality of Islandia is a micronation experiment that aims to use the island to forward democracy, inclusion and sustainability (while recognising the the laws of the host nation, Belize).
Anyone can be a citizen of Islandia for a small donation, and they are aiming for 5,000 registered citizens. Paid up citizens receive either a digital, or physical membership card (depending on your preference), and are invited to be active members of the Principality of Islandia Facebook Group.

This is one of those cool and funny stories that went viral with a article in CNN in March of 2022. I was one the founding citizens who contributed money to crowdsourcing the purchase of this island. We are in the process of building a housing structure on this island so we can house visitors. We have had a number of day visitors and also some people who have camped. Young Pioneer Tours hosts visits to the island.
