CEO in travel tech company, TechMe

Hi everyone,

I'm Marko, the CEO & Founder of TechMe, based in Belgrade, Serbia. With 12+ years of experience in the travel industry, I saw firsthand how agencies were struggling with slow, manual sales processes. That’s when we decided to build TechMe-an AI-driven platform designed to speed up and improve the sales experience.

Did you know that over 70% of travel offers fail to convert due to a lack of personalization?

Imagine transforming this statistic with AI-driven insights, continuously refining your offers in real-time based on client interactions and feedback. We’ve been testing our app, analyzing the results, and we’re excited to see how it’s making a difference in streamlining the sales process for travel agencies.

We're working with early adopters

TechMe is currently in the testing phase (MVP) with early adopters (travel agencies) who are actively testing and providing valuable feedback. Our target customers are small and medium-sized travel agencies, tour operators, and DMCs looking to automate their sales process and improve customer engagement.

Example use-case:

• A traveler submits an inquiry (via email, webpage, or chatbox).
• TechMe analyzes their preferences and suggests the best available options.
• Currently, agencies manually input offers.
• With future API connections, TechMe will automatically pull live offers from suppliers.
• The agent reviews and sends a personalized offer, improving speed and conversion.

We are also working to connect with suppliers via API integrations. This will enable us to pull real-time availability, pricing, and offers from various travel providers, streamlining the sales process even further.

Our team includes:

Marko (me) – Business Development & CEO (In travel since 2013)
Stefan – Legal & Operations (COO)
Jelena & Jovana – Software Architects (CTO & CPO)

Hi Marko, thanks for sharing TechMe with the Travel Massive community (and welcome).

A few questions about your tool:

1. How do you ensure the AI does not hallucinate and offer something that does not exist?
2. Do customers know they are talking / chatting with an AI?
3. What geographic markets do you want to launch in first?

Congrats on your progress so far!

Hi Ian, thanks so much for the warm welcome and thoughtful questions, really appreciate it!

1. How do you ensure the AI does not hallucinate and offer something that does not exist?
Great question! TechMe is designed to work with structured data from verified sources, such as the agency’s own offers or connected supplier databases (via API or manual upload). This ensures the AI only matches real and bookable products. We avoid using open-ended generation for offers — instead, we focus on smart filtering and personalization based on real-time availability and business rules defined by the agency.

2. Do customers know they are talking/chatting with an AI?
Currently, TechMe is built to assist agents, not replace them. So, the AI operates in the background - generating recommendations, drafting itineraries, or suggesting follow-ups - but it's still the human agent who sends the message or confirms the final offer. In future versions where we may test AI-assisted chat, transparency will be key - we’ll clearly communicate when AI is involved, while giving the option to escalate to a human at any time.

3. What geographic markets do you want to launch in first?
We’re starting with Southern and Eastern Europe, particularly Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, and Romania, and Italy(one of the biggest travel market in Europe)- where we’ve already established strong partnerships and interest. These are markets with many small and midsize agencies that often lack tech support but are eager to innovate. From there, we plan to expand toward other EU countries, and eventually, North America.

Thanks again for your support - excited to be part of this community! 🙌

You know, it's a strength, not a weakness that you have yet to add the supply-side for a tool targeted at travel pros.

On one level, you focus on the unique value you can add around the "CRM" portion, and any seasoned pro will likely have their own booking relationships. You could think of supply as a story for "down the road" in that case.

I'm fairly sceptical about all AI travel planners. As a source of inspiration, sure, why not, but let the customer craft their trip with care, and they'll love the product in return.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Kevin, and I totally get the skepticism. There’s definitely a lot of hype around AI travel planners, and many forget that the real value in travel often comes from that human-crafted touch. That’s exactly why we’re building TechMe differently. Instead of trying to replace the travel pro, we’re supporting them behind the scenes -automating the boring stuff like matching client inquiries with the right existing offers, generating draft itineraries, and helping them follow up faster and more personally. One of our testers told us it’s like having a super-fast assistant that never sleeps, but they still make the final call.
If you're open to it, I’d love to jump on a quick call and exchange ideas. Always keen to hear real feedback and explore different views, especially from someone who's been hands-on in the industry like you.
