I’m Matthias, founder of Nomad Pioneers, a travel club for people who want to spend longer in a place and build a circle of friends while they’re there.
I previously founded Coworking Bansko and Bansko Nomad Fest, helping turn a Bulgarian mountain town into a home for an international nomad community. What I enjoyed most was bringing people together and seeing what grew from those connections. I also founded Coliving Semkovo, a project where over 100 people are converting a 17,000 m2 socialist era building into Nomad Utopia.
With Nomad Pioneers, I’m taking that experience to new places. Our first chapter is in Cuenca, Ecuador, from December 15, 2026 to March 15, 2027. Members can join for part or all of the season, with community gatherings, shared adventures and plenty of room for their own work and routines.
I’d love to connect with local community builders, coworking spaces and tourism partners who can help our members get to know a place beyond the usual visitor experience.
