In a previous life I was a territory manager for an implantable medical device company. After having children and really reflecting on what made me happy, I began a travel agency in 2010. Open Leaf Excursions specialized in worldwide adventure travel. I quickly began to realize that the travel industry was lacking in experiential sales knowledge despite the fact they were selling and providing experiences. In 2013 I combined my knowledge as an exercise physiologist, sales trainer and travel expert and began doing consulting work within the travel industry. Since I have traveled around the world training guides, operators, sales people and others on how to make itineraries and other experiences more memorable and enjoyable. In 2016, Southwind Adventures (Luxury Adventure Tour Operator in South and Central America) acquired Open Leaf Excursions. I am now the Director of Sales and Marketing for Southwind Adventures.
