Ventotene and Santo Stefano Islands, tiny islets in the very middle of the Tyrrhenian Sea, are a real paradise for nature enthusiasts. Not only are they sites of fundamental importance for migratory birds, but thanks to their unique marine life this is also one of the best places to scuba dive in Europe.

♻️ MEET Network ecotourism model
The multi-day ecotourism experience, Dive into the Natural Wonders and History of the Pearls of the Pontine Islands, developed and managed by the protected area in collaboration with K’Nature was created using the MEET Network ecotourism Model during DestiMED PLUS project.
Using the MEET Model the protected area and K’ Nature tour agency were able to prioritise sustainability, quality and leaving a positive social impact from the initial stages of designing the product. Choosing a well-established Bed and Breakfast that resides within the protected area and is environmentally-conscious supported this; as did using local companies, such as local boat agencies and tour guides, wherever possible.
