Bloggers, have you seen a traffic increase this July?
We saw some reports of people recovering their traffic with the latest Google update.
At Stay22 we saw an uplift of about 11% across our network of 4000 bloggers.
What makes this special is that this seems like the first time in years where a Google update has actually helped creators. A year and a half ago, the traffic across our network dropped by 20% with the HCU update and never really recovered.
Are you seeing traffic up or down with this latest update? By how much?

Hey. It is a wonderful time for us SEOs and Bloggers 😃. So much change, and a lot of excitement and challenges. The website I work on primarely has been showing steady increases in the past 2 years - regardless of core updates. The last one is, I feel, still in motion however, the traffic is still high (by comparison). And given the AI overviews 'destroying' the traffic - I am seeing mostly improvements. The numbers from Google Search Console for this year vs 2024 are 150%+. And, it is a website of a tour operator with a blog page. So, different traffic.
I had an almost 180% increase on my travel blog if I compare the last 4 weeks with the 4 weeks before that. But, that still doesn't bring my traffic anywhere close to the traffic I used to receive before Google's Helpful Content Update...
September has been a banner month for Wandering Italy. Stats still appear to be going up, and new content doesn't seem to be the reason.
Thanks for sharing this. I recently got a "no" from a visitors' bureau I'd worked with previously because my traffic wasn't where they needed it to be. This gives me some hope that things will pick up again. "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming." :)
I've heard from several Stay22 partners that they're seeing an increase over the past month. Let's hope it lasts!

Interesting to see so many signs of recovery. In my case, I’ve noticed that more personal, story-driven content is performing better again — maybe a good sign that Google is shifting back to rewarding authenticity.
Can confirm that of the Top 500 North American and UK creators on Travel Massive that traffic is up 10% on their blogs in aggregate in July. However some blogs lost traffic, while others gained. If I get a chance to look more closely at the data and spot a trend I'll report back!
