I’m Krishna, co-founder & CEO of NowYouKnow (NYK) — a social app my sister and I built because we were frustrated with two things:
1) Asking friends for recommendations and getting back long, disorganized texts, screenshots, and Google Docs that were impossible to use later.
2) Fake reviews, paid influencer posts, and AI-generated “best of” lists you can’t trust.
We wanted a simple way to keep and share the places we actually love — from people we trust most.

Thanks for sharing NowYouKnow with the Travel Massive community. Well done on the app, it feels like you've got a real community growing there, bravo!
Also great to see content in Melbourne (close to me) so I will be trying out some tips later this month when I visit for our Melbourne Travel Massive meetup!
I really liked the onboarding except for one thing - it seemed not possible to skip searching for contacts. I strongly dislike this feature in any app and this is a hard "no" if I am forced to give access. Luckily, I could deny the permission in Android and "continue" but it would feel nicer to have a "skip" button there for people like me. Some people might just delete the app at this point and you'll never know (no pun intended).
What are the main goals this year and how far progressed are you with your creator monetization? Where are most of your community based?

Thank you for downloading and exploring the app, and providing detailed feedback! We appreciate your thoughtful comments. We do not require people to provide contact access - but you are correct in the sense that we are guiding people to provide it. We do this so early on, we can connect you to people you know on the app. This is something that we may have to change as you rightly suggested.
Try adding your first rec, or importing your first bit of content. We have built it such that you can easily import existing data (a note on your phone, google maps list etc).
Our community is currently largely between India and the US, with a small presence in Europe.
Our main goals this year are to drive awareness, onboard more trusted creators to give them a chance to monetize their audience, and have people simply document their travels in a joyful way.
If you are open to it, we would love to have a conversation with you about being a creator on our platform.
With regards to creator monetization - we have started onboarding creators and had our first successful transaction for a creator on our platform today!
