Hello Everyone! I wish you a successful 2022, but above all, to stay healthy. I am looking forward to new activities in tourism this year. For those I have not met to introduce myself - I am the founder and director of the Association of Private Accommodation Providers in Montenegro. In just over a year of our business, I have tried to create a solid base for improving the working conditions of our community of accommodation providers.
Thanks to direct talks with travel agencies, participation in a working group for Tourism Development Strategy in Montenegro as well as direct talks with independent UNWTO consultants, I can see the best way to organize and promote the capacity of private accommodation. 70% of realized overnight stays are realized in the capacities of private accommodation.
We need support and cooperation with travel agencies, local tourism organizations and all of you who work on creating tourism products in Montenegro. This year, our main goal is to create an offer, promote and implement environmentally sustainable business, reduce waste, save energy ... It is time to intensify the transition to the principles of circular economy and in that name we plan cooperation with NGO Handicrafts and the Chamber of Crafts of Montenegro.
To simplify the communication between agencies and private accommodation owners, we recently completed the www.bookingmne.com platform, which allows direct connection with the accommodation providers without commission. We plane promotion of it in February, but its already visible. There are only registered on the site, and we provide logistical support if you need anything. We have just finished it, so not all members of the Association are visible yet, but every day someone new is apparent. We have made it possible to search by the type of activity that can be organized and I think this is especially useful for the off-season period because we are persistently working on a longer period of the pre-season that has been lost in recent years.
During the year, we have planned educational workshops, we are finishing the adaptation of the multipurpose space that will allow us to communicate in live, which we all lack.
What is also important is that we have connected with the Association of Private Accommodation in Serbia and Croatia, so there will certainly be interesting activities. Write, suggest, join. Good luck.

Your initiative seems really interesting. Building communities on local level and helping accommodation providers with educational workshops seems to be the right path to build resilient destinations. In case you would love to explore another channel of promotion I would suggest you take a look at Fairbnb.coop. I am with my team now opening the destination of Slovenia with them, as it seemed a lot easier than building whole booking engine by ourselves.
