A big thanks to everyone who joined us at Dublin’s belle Café en Seine for Dublin Travel Massive’s Summer in Dublin: A Nightcap with Stripe and Future Travel Experience networking evening, sponsored by Stripe.
Aimed at bringing the local travel and travel tech community together with the Future Travel Experience conference’s international delegates, the event was a great success.
Dublin co-leaders, Kevin O’Shaugnessy (CityHook) and Amanda Campbell (Sparkling Communications), welcomed 160 people through our doors, bestowing on each a prized drinks token, courtesy of our sponsor, Stripe, and a welcome of céad míle fáilte (a hundred thousand welcomes). Many thanks to James Lemon, Global Lead for Travel, Transport, Leisure & Automotive at Stripe, for teeing it up!
Joining us for the craic (fun) was representatives from a host of companies both local and international, including Iceland Air, Finnair, Air France KLM, Lufthansa, Lufthansa Innovation Hub, Munich Airport, Keflavík Airport, Enterprise Ireland, Plan3, 3Toro Consulting, TripAdmit, Engineering Insights, OpenVentures … and many, many more.
Chapter co-leader Mark Lenahan (Lenahan Consulting) networked the crowd and got some great insights into why guests thought Travel Massive’s ‘Summer in Dublin’ was a great place to be.
Here’s what we learned:
John Magill, Consultant (Dublin) — “All business eventually comes down to networking, and Travel Massive is a very good place to network.”
Ultan O’Brien, Airportr (Dublin) — “Because you are not just talking shop – you are talking about the good stuff – travel and life.”
Brian Porter (Dublin) — “All these fantastic faces and friends from the industry – it is great to see everyone, see what they are doing and to meet our airline friends.“
Dave Walshe, Datalex (Dublin) — “It’s always good to meet other vendors, other airlines, all the people talking the same language, and even better in our own home town thanks to FTE.”
Nick Stott, Travel in Motion (Zurich) — “I think it is just great to network, to meet people, old colleagues, new colleagues, and to start or continue conversations with people. We keep the vibe going.”
Phil Douglas, 2e Systems (Frankfurt) — “I like the people – connecting to all your colleagues and peers – that’s what I like the most!”
Ryan Ghee, FTE (London) — “You have like-minded innovators, technologists, and entrepreneurs who are keen to get together – to share what they are working on, to look to the future, and come together in a wonderful city to enjoy a drink, network together, and to learn.”
Rany Francois-Marie Saad, Global Airlines (London) — “As we say in travel – the more you travel, the more you know – and the same is true for conferences – the more you connect, the more you know people.”
— Thanks to everyone who attended and supported the evening, and see you at our next event!

It was a rare beauty of a summer’s evening in Dublin. If we had cicadas, they would have been chirping from their hideouts in velveteen foliage, their optimistic song hanging in the sultry air. Instead, we were at Dublin’s belle Café en Seine – a venue reminiscent of gay Paris with a nod to a headily spiced New Orleans.
We hear a contingent went on to swing from the proverbial chandeliers until four in the morning. But - shhhh - you didn’t hear it from us!
It was a great night, got to meet a lot of the industry people who flew in to Dublin for FTE.
