Originally from France, Catherine GERMIER-HAMEL is an Entrepreneur, Consultant and Trainer, committed to the achievement of sustainable places, experiences and practices.
For over 25 years, she has gained international experience either as Consultant or Director / Manager within the framework of global initiatives and projects benefiting local communities in developing and emerging countries (Africa, Asia and Latin / Central America), for a variety of service sectors including tourism, hospitality, environmental utilities and education.
In 2005, Catherine started a new life in South Korea where, among different occupations, she served as F&B Marketing Manager at Novotel Gangnam hotel (2007-2008) and Director of Global Programs - Sustainable Tourism Consultant at the UNWTO ST-EP (Sustainable Tourism for Eliminating Poverty) Foundation (2008-2013), before becoming an independent Tourism Marketing & Sustainability Consultant in 2014.
In 2016, she established Millennium Destinations as a Seoul-based company providing business solutions and consulting / training services to micro- and small tourism enterprises and organizations. Together with three partners, she co-founded Herost in 2019, as a digital platform and labeling system aimed at promoting sustainable, community-centered travel experiences.
Catherine holds an MBA from NEOMA Business School in International Trade and Marketing (1992) and a post degree in Sustainable Tourism Development from University Paris Nanterre.
