Introducing Resonate — a digital magazine and storytelling platform for better travel stories, told by local voices

Hi everyone, I'm Raj Gyawali. Some of you know me from socialtours in Nepal. I'm one of the co-creators of Resonate and part of the founding team. I've spent 20+ years working in responsible tourism across Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, China, and Ghana, and Resonate is the project I'm most excited about right now. I wanted to share why, and hear what you think.

Here's the belief it's built on:

The world doesn't need more travel content. It needs better travel stories.

We started Resonate (resonate.travel) to move beyond lists, influencers, and bucket lists, and instead tell the stories that give places meaning. Stories about culture, nature, and the people and experiences that shape a destination. Stories told by local voices, and ones locals are genuinely proud to share.

It's a digital magazine and storytelling platform celebrating travel that builds deeper connections between people, places, and purpose. We publish thoughtful work from local storytellers, travellers, photographers, and industry experts who believe travel can be immersive, regenerative, and culturally meaningful.

Because travel should do more than take us somewhere. It should connect us to local pride and local stories, and help us understand why a place truly matters.

We're at 153 stories from 120 storytellers across 71 countries, plus 40 destination guides — and we're just getting started.
