Join us at WTM Africa on the Global Stage for a talk with award winning author Milton Schorr, and learn how to craft your own great story.

Strange Fish is a modern retelling of the mermaid myth, set in the small fishing town of St. Helena Bay where Schorr grew up. The session will be hosted by Neil Jansson (Travel Massive) with author @MiltonSchorr taking you on a storytelling adventure about the creation of his debut novel: "Strange Fish".

Neil Jansson, Marketing Strategist, African Travel Crew
From Lodges to tour companies, Neil has lived and breathed tourism for over 30 years. Over the past year he has captured the stories of over 54 towns and 1200 people across the Western Cape. An optimist and believer in dreams, he believes that with a little imagination and some elbow grease anything can be achieved.

Milton Schorr, Travel Writer
Milton Schorr was born in 1981 in Cape Town, South Africa. He attended the University of Cape Town as a student of theatre, thereafter creating theatre works across South Africa. As a writer and actor he has received the Imbewu Scriptwriting award for his play The Heroin Diaries, and both the ‘iDidTht Best of Reel for Direction Craft’ and ‘Vimeo Staff Pick’ award for the short film detailing his youth, Surrender. His MMA based screenplay This Is African MMA is currently in development, and he has appeared in blockbuster Hollywood productions such as Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Outlander, Tomb Raider, and Redeeming Love. He is a renowned travel and sports writer, with credits in many of South Africa's major publications. His first novel Strange Fish won the ‘Best Novel’ award at the SA Independent Publisher Awards 2021. A Man Of The Road is his second. His work can be seen at www.pilgrimspressbooks.com.
