About me

Lived and worked in the adventure and volunteer travel industry in Thailand for almost 15 years. Boss of Trunk, one of the countries leading ethical and responsible tour operators, offering tailor-made, white-label, DMC, group tours and more. If you're looking to partner with, or travel with, an honest and transparent operator, working for positive change, say hello.

Why did you join the community?

Networking! Having bootstrapped my company over the last 20 years, I wholy appreciate and understand the importance of meeting other travel professionals. TM has been an excellent source for connecting with like-minded people and long may that continue.

What is your favorite travel destination?

Thailand has, and always will be, my number one, but I guess I'm rather one-sided on that! So behind The Land of Smiles I think my top three would be New Zealand, Fiji and Cambodia.

Where do you dream of traveling to?

North Japan. As an avid snowboarder, Japan is a destination that I think is high on the list of most snowsports fans. Japan, and the culture also fascinates me so hopefully one day I'll have the opportunity to explore.

What was your first travel job?

I was lucky enough to have volunteered with a small NGO in Thailand over a period of several weeks, assisting on three separate projects. This transformed my life and is ultimately the reason I now do what I do. I was asked if I could work with them in a sales/customer service position, orginally working from the UK, but then from Thailand and the rest is history.

What do you want to learn more about?

Teach, tech, tech - being in my 50's now (ugh!), tech is something that I admit to struggling with and I know there are solutions out there that would help me to streamline work processes, but I do struggle with where to even start.

Three words that describe why we should travel?

Opens the mind.
