About me

I'm a Northern Irish-Canadian travel writer and content creator with a knack for finding incredible experiences. I am a freelance editorial writer and also work with travel companies to create engaging newsletter content. I also run a successful travel blog focusing on memorable, authentic, safe travel around Mexico and have over 10 year experience in the travel industry working for luxury and adventure tour operators.

Why did you join the community?

Travel is all about community, but working for yourself can be isolating. I joined the community to meet other people in the travel industry, make connections, and find opportunities.

What is your favorite travel destination?

My favourite places I've been are Lapland and Brazil, for very different reasons. Brazil was the first place I'd visited in South America solo and it really gave me my travel wings. The culture, food, and people made it a trip I'll never forget. My other favourite was when I visited Lapland at Christmas. The Arctic Circle is probably the most beautiful place I've ever been in my life, especially in winter when the sky never brightens past the bubblegum pinks and blues of sunrise.

Where do you dream of traveling to?

Japan is really high on my list for travel destinations. There's something super unique about the culture and history that I can't wait to explore.

What was your first travel job?

I was a wide-eyed 23 year old trying to make it in London when I fell into a job as a travel agent, and the rest was history!

What do you want to learn more about?

Everything. Whether it's travel, documentaries, magazines, memoirs, interesting people, I'm eternally inquisitive and can never learn enough.

Three words that describe why we should travel?

To surprise ourselves.
