OTAs as currently structured, for urban day tours, is an obsolete approach in this AI era. The question will be which of the OTAs gets this first.... Thats the major topic you missed, but it is a good set of issues and perspectives!

Love the problem area. I absolutely agree that transport is key to the destination experience. Whether that is a car that the consumer has to drive (themselves), this is an interesting question, and on balance, I would say not. (at least in the mid term... show more

Yeah Ian. They are all using the same "experiences" terminology as the "Tours & activities" sector does. But folk from that sector are asleep at the wheel, they should be thinking about what happens where there isn't a wheel

2023 will be a breakthrough year for AI in tourism. The most significant use case won't be what many talk about, which is generative AI (i.e. writing text / creating images), but will actually be AI enabled autonomous vehicles including early robotaxis.... show more
