Most young travelers get inspiration and do research on social media: a Reel with five cafes, 40 saved videos, a folder of screenshots. Then the actual trip gets built in spreadsheets and group chats, and most saved places are never visited.
A whole category of apps now attacks this: Stasht, Plotline, GoPlaces, Mapstr, Wanderlog, and our own DocentPro. They differ more than youād expect. Three things we learned comparing all of them:
1. Pure save tools are solved. Getting places out of a TikTok and onto a map works well in several apps today. 2. The gap is after saving. Almost nothing connects saved places to an itinerary, and only one app closes the loop to an actual hotel booking. 3. YouTube is the blind spot. Most apps only handle TikTok and Instagram.
We published the full comparison, including the features where competitors beat us;

Hi Travel Massive community š
Iām Jake, founder of DocentPro.
We just launched a new feature called SpotFetch that turns any Instagram or TikTok post into saved travel locations automatically.
If youāve ever saved a Reel because of a restaurant or café⦠and then never found the place again, thatās exactly the problem we built this for.
How it works:
1. Find a post on Instagram or TikTok
2. Tap Share ā DocentPro
3. Our AI extracts the places and saves them to your travel collection
No more rewatching videos to figure out the location.
Would love feedback from fellow travel builders and creators here.
Try it here (link to app store):

very cool feature!
Thanks! It literally takes a minute to collect all the trending spots from Instagram and TikTok. You should try it.
Intrigued!
You should try out. Itās a game changer!
