Hi This is Scott! The other half of the Tokyo Travel Massive chapter. I’m a Boston (Massachusetts, USA)native turned Tokyo expat, operating at the intersection of travel and technology. My day job involves helping global tech brands navigate APAC market entry, drive commercial growth, and bridge language and cultural gaps.
But my real passion is connecting with the people who build the future of how we travel. Tokyo is the ultimate location for creating unique "chemical reactions”-brilliant mashups of art, technical innovation, and deep-rooted traditions in hospitality. Hi everyone! 👋 My name is Ally, and together with Scott, I’m excited to step in as the new chapter leader for Travel Massive Tokyo.

First, a heartfelt thank-you to Kei Shibata, who led the Tokyo chapter through some of the most exciting and challenging years in Japan’s travel industry. We’re truly honored to carry forward the community he built. And to Ian, Travel Massive’s founder, thank you for your continued support and for keeping this global community thriving.

I’m originally from Bulgaria but have called Japan home for the past 25 years. I started my career as a writer across several English-language publications in Japan, and since 2021, I’ve been co-founder and Content Manager at Shiitake Creative, a bilingual agency focused on travel and destination storytelling. I’m also co-founder and chairperson of the Japan Travel Awards, one of Japan’s largest tourism awards recognizing inclusive and sustainable travel.

What I love most about Travel Massive is the belief that travel is strongest when diverse international voices come together to connect, exchange ideas, and collaborate. That’s something we’d love to continue building here in Tokyo, together with all of you. 😊🇯🇵

I joined several years ago and was very disappointed that nothing was happening, so I am now pleased to receive news that a gathering is being planned. Unfortunately, I live in Aichi and probably cannot visit Tokyo during the proposed period. If an event is held online at a time that fits my schedule, I would be happy to participate. By the way, I am a Japanese travel and culture writer who is open to new projects.
