The Lagos Travel Massive community had an amazing time hosting a hangout at Colossus Lagos (4/5 Sheraton Link Road, Ikeja, Lagos) last Saturday, 14th September with support from Passportmonie.
The hangout featured a travel tech product demo by Passportmonie, networking, panel discussions, knowledge sharing, ice breakers, and giveaways. Here's a recap of what happened:
β’ Sam Adeleke (@samadeleke) gave a brief overview of the community and history of the Lagos Travel Massive, sharing the impact the chapter has made over the years in a presentation.
β’ Daniel Olabitan shared how to structure and scale your tourism business. He highlighted points such as: building a foundation for growth (getting a physical space), optimizing efficiency, delegation, referral programs, belonging to tourism associations, connecting with destination marketing companies, personalization, and additional services.
β’ Passportmonie (passportmonie.com) presented a demo of their products and services, plus a giveaway.
β’ We had two breakout sessions: the first one was about meeting four new people and having a conversation with them, and the second session was a "two truths and a lie" game to help participants get to know each other. One member shared that talks from a previous Travel Massive hangout helped her to generate income.
β’ Dozie Obi (@dozie-obi), Destination Consultant at Grin Ace shared his knowledge on accessing familiarization trips, and Daniel Olabintan (@daniel-olabintan), CEO of Elders Travels shared advice on building miles with hotels and airlines.
β’ There was also a game to identify flags of various countries around the world. Passportmonie provided a website design to the winner of the game. There was also airtime giveaway for different networks.
β’ Registered participants received a copy of Skribble magazine, or books authored by Dayo Adedayo including "Ogun State" and "Rivers State: a visual potrait".
β’ We also shared Travel Massive stickers, and offered t-shirts for purchase β it was great to see many members wearing their Travel Massive t-shirt at the event!
Overall the event was a great day of connecting, networking, bonding, meeting new people, knowledge sharing, unwinding, and relaxing. Please share Lagos Travel Massive with your colleagues and friends in the industry!
We look forward to seeing you at the next hangout!
