Since 17 November 2004 I live in Banda Aceh, Aceh province - Indonesia. In June 2007 I started recruiting post conflict community members and training them as jungle trek tour guides given their extensive knowledge of the jungle they once fought and hide in during the dark period of armed conflict which lasted until the 15th of August 2005. I started with 2 guides in 2007.

Today Aceh Explorer provides a job opportunity to almost 50 guides, including 5 women from all over Aceh province.
