Travel Massive and I go way back! To the OG days of travel blogging circa 2010s...tweet-ups, online banter and a group of people who had no idea what we were doing, navigating an emerging world of online content creation and connection. What brought that to life to cement our relationships was the IRL meet-ups - Spain, London, New York, Berlin, Athens, Toronto, Melbourne and Sydney. I've participated in a few TM parties and met some epic biz acquaintances, and lifelong friends, as a result!
I can never answer this question. It's usually the most recent, as it's fresh and I'm still excited by it! So today it's the Australian state of Tasmania :) I'm a post-researcher, so I'll do a lot of planning in terms of where to eat / drink / observe that is fun and quirky, then study the history later and get even more into a place. A few countries I love and never hesitate to return to (excluding those I have lived in) include India, Georgia, Mexico, Portugal and Slowjamastan.
Right now, I only have two countries to conquer to hit 100 UN-recognised! So those next two! It's probably going to have to be Asia. Laos, Philippines and Myanmar are high up. In terms of DREAM destinations, I'm feeling a pull towards Chile and Namibia. Other countries are no-go rn...Lebanon / Ukraine / Syria are all high on my dream travel list, but it's nice to have things to do later!
In New Zealand, where I grew up, I worked for a consumer PR agency after finishing my degree. I had different kinds of clients - fashion / music / FMCG / wellness / agriculture / Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, you name it, we pimped it! My one travel client was a cruise line. And OMG did that test me in terms of crises...but it also led me to my career in travel! Nothing is chance. Every step of my career - and life - has been completely guided. I wouldn't be where I am without that cruise client.
Local culture in unfamiliar / under represented places, and how we can ensure travel equates to wealth distribution. I love seeing local traditions and culture kept alive in a world that is at risk of becoming detached from real life in favour of screen time.
Curiosity. Compassion. Ahora.
Hi Batyr! I hope all is well in incredible Turkmenistan! Are you based in Ashgabat? To this day it is one of the most fascinating places I have visited. I was blown away. It's such an interesting country, with incredible history and living traditions.... show more
Love this, as I love quirky sites and places!
You can connect with her @amylee on here - I'll let her know to look out for you! :)
This is a great app! We also enjoyed trialling it in a more off-beat location outside a major city (Bacchus Marsh) and it gave some awesome intel. Look forward to checking it out in more places! I hope London is treating you well as summer comes to town... show more
Hi, Teddy!! Hope you are well! Are you going to the Lisbon TM? My friend Amylee will be there - would love for you to meet her! She lives in Nazare :)
