About me

After receiving her bachelor's in Tourism Management at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada, Samantha continued her training as a hiking guide in Banff National Park. In 2013 she took on the role in Sales & Program Management for Handa Travel, leading travel programs as large as 150+ students to Cuba. She began working with the Connection Tours team in 2014, alongside her father, the Battlefield Tours creator, Ian Cowan - guiding Canadians back to the UK, Europe & South East Asia.

Her most notable tours over the last 6 years include traveling with our last surviving Canadian Veterans for the 70th Anniversary of their Liberation of Holland 2015, as well as her implementation and execution on the Every Man Remembered Dieppe program and pilgrimage in 2017. She also manages the Calgary Children’s Choir European tours and competitions overseas in 2017 & again in 2019. Samantha has also worked with the Dominion of Canada Pipes & Drums performance tour in 2018, and the D-Day 75th Anniversary Tours of 2019.

Today, Samantha resides in Saskatoon, Canada, where she writes a host of special interest custom tours for agencies across Canada & the US. She also hosts various webinars, as well as the Battlefield Tours of Canada Blog. She also contributes to several podcasts (see Dan Carlin's Hardcore History series), and provides guest speaking and student lectures regarding various projects she comes across on Connection Custom tours.
