In response to last week's newsletter titled "Is Food Tourism making a comeback?"
Food tourism has always been a part of the travel experience and it's not new.
Since 2015, I have been writing about local and authentic food experiences on Authentic Food Quest, a food and travel website I co-founded at www.authenticfoodquest.com
The goal has always been and continues to be about inspiring people to seek out local food and culinary activities on their travels. We share content about cooking classes, food and wine tours, recipes of emblematic dishes all aimed at helping people experience local culture through food.
Since the pandemic and also keeping with the rise in travel, we've seen an increased consumption in our content. And, when traveling and participating in various culinary activities around the world, we see more people and a higher interest in learning about local foods and drinks.

Hey, Travel Massive Community,
I am working on our passion project, Palette, which was born from a BootCamp. I am looking to validate further and learn more about travelers. Where do you find people to chat with to learn more perspectives on travel, specifically travel planning, both online and offline?
Thanks!
Good question!
Offline: Attend business / startup networking events and ask people. "Hey, I'm working on a side project in travel, and I want to know what tools you use to plan your trip?". In person, people generally love talking about travel, so that bit is easy.
Online: It's harder to cold-contact people, and surveys typically have very low completion rates. You could do a call out in your own network on LinkedIn (similar to Camille's suggestions) and then people who know you are more likely to help. If you can boil down your question to single multiple choice the maybe you could ask on social platforms like X, IG and get people to engage.
Hope that helps and when you've progressed a bit more and ready to share Palette with a bigger audience then submit your project here on Travel Massive — that's also another way to ask for feedback from the community.
Thanks Ian! Looking forward to sharing Palette with Travel Massive soon!
Hi Martin!
Aside from using costly user interview platform you can do some outreach on LinkedIn by searching people with specific job titles. This is what I did for a start-up I worked for who was operating on a limited budget.
I've worked in tourism for over 8 years in a variety of different capacities so I'm also happy to help if possible 😊
Thanks for the info. Yes, I would love to connect!
I have had great success finding people to interview for my IG live this past year just by messaging people on Instagram. I find it is so easy to connect with people there. Another way is on Facebook groups! I always help people validate their ideas on those groups :)
Feel free to connect with me: charmaine@thecanadianwanderer.com
Thank you!
Forgive me for pointing out the glaringly obvious lol - but I'm sure you can round up some names and emails here. I've found the TM forum a fantastic resource for all travel-related queries.
