Merzouga is a small Moroccan town in the Sahara Desert, near the Algerian border. Known as “the gates of Sahara Desert” the large seas of dunes (up to 150 metres tall) formed by wind-blown sand make for adventurous travel.
A local tour operator Mustapha Camp Merzouga provides camel trekking tours:
🐫 Start at their camp and ride a camel (or a 4x4) across the dunes as the sun sets.
⛺️ Have a traditional dinner, music and entertainment in the evening.
🏂 After breakfast, sand boarding and a ride back through the dunes to the start.

This was such a unique experience and the host at Mustapha was really welcoming and taught us so much about Berber culture. Really worth it!
