My name is Angie, and I grew up in a small town on the island of Borneo before spending the next good half of my life working and living elsewhere. Now, I work full-time in Singapore as a freelance web developer.
Throughout my years of travelling during any free moment I could get, I spent a good chunk of it in a few countries to feel like I had a home there. I prefer taking things slow, looking around me while I journey by land, and learning about life in the places I'm visiting.
On my blog you'll find stories and guides to several destinations in Asia and Europe. They are a lot about pictures and experiences through the journey itself. From typical guide-led tours to crossing the country on my own in a bus, you'll find a bit of everything here that hopefully will show you what I see in my exploration. I also talk about experiences and thoughts that intertwine with travel, encouraging mindful travel that is not just for ourselves, but for everyone we meet along the way.

Hello! I'm a local of Southeast Asia aspiring to learn the lives of others in every part of the world, whether it's food or traditions or just the little things that surprise all of us. I offer a different perspective to travel in my blog, and am happy to take feedbacks on how I can better improve in sharing my experience while keeping my objectives.
More contents are in the works while I'm saving up for more travel, but for now, I hope that my stories will become an inspired trip for all.
Hi Angie, thanks for sharing your travel blog with the Travel Massive community!
How has tourism changed in Borneo since you grew up there? Any recent trends you can share?
As a web developer, do you have any tips for new bloggers who are thinking about building their own themes or features on their blog?
Hi Ian! I really appreciate the questions!
I come from a small town in Borneo where tourism is almost non-existent, but that's also why I was pleasantly surprised when I saw some backpackers in my town since about 5 years ago or so! Most would normally just flock to one of the best diving spots in the world or the world's highest via ferrata climb, but I believe now that we have more information available on social media from both travel influencers and passionate locals from the Y and Z generations, more adventurous travellers are beginning to explore the region. I definitely see a lot of potential here especially for those who love untouched nature and unique cultures. That's why my goal is to thoroughly understand and promote the region for tourism. In fact, I'm currently working on a related initiative, although it's generally for Southeast Asia, so once I have prepared a good pitch deck, I would love to share with the community here if there is an interest.
For building your own theme or features on your blog, I really recommend figuring out how you like to tell your stories, and then go through more than several blogs (travel or not) to find out which design elements you would like to incorporate in order to present those stories! Mine is image heavy and journey-centric because of my obsession for landscape pictures and journey experiences, so I settled with screen-filled images overlaid with words and so forth. I also found Wordpress Elementor is the best to fulfil my elaborated needs and highly recommend it for the most customization.
There are many other generic considerations to take note when it comes to designing for web experience, but it will require a lengthier discussion, so I say just start with knowing your needs! Because even if it's too much of a hassle to design your own, you might be able to find a premade theme that suits them. It's how I started my blogging experience before this.
Hi all! While I'm working on updating my blog with more stories and experiences from my travels, I started recording audio blog for entries that are more personal, talking about aspects that intertwine with travel such as mental wellbeing, environmental sustainability, and more. I also hope to start a podcast where a guest and I will talk about travel mindsets. If you're interested in contributing, I would love to hear what you have!
