## Southern Explorations - Antarctica Operations & Sales Specialist
[Southern Explorations](www.southernexplorations.com) is a small, specialized adventure travel company offering trips to Latin America and Antarctica. The company is based in Seattle, Washington. This position is remote, with some in-person training in Seattle.
Southern Explorations is looking for a highly qualified, motivated, flexible, and independent individual to join our Antarctica Sales and Operations team. Attention to detail is of the utmost importance for this position. Due to the complexity of this position, a two-year commitment and contract are required. This is a full-time position.

Key Job Responsibilities:
* Create and maintain all Antarctica sales material, including trip drafts, sales and operations reference drafts, and pre-departure information
* Conduct ongoing research concerning all aspects of Antarctica trips
* Perform website updates pertaining to Antarctica trip pages
* Updating the Antarctic Departure Excel Sheet
* Manage high-volume e-mails daily
* Provide exceptional customer service to all prospective and current clients through e-mail and phone contact
* Communicate with clients, other staff members, and overseas outfitters to arrange trip logistics
* Confirm all services with Operators
* Send confirmation emails/deposit or final payment received emails to passengers
* Send passengers final payment reminders, and following up on late payments
* Assist sales team with updating client itineraries and booking pre- and post-cruise tours services
* Send client details and information requests to Latin American operators
* Check flight schedules and other logistics and compare with itineraries for accuracy
* Help passengers with flights, advising them and getting them proper quotes, if needed
* Coordinate the completion of customer forms required by cruise operators
* Reconfirm all services and prepare customer final trip details
Minimum Qualifications:
* 1-2 Years’ experience working in Antarctica Travel to some degree
* Demonstrated experience in customer service and a sales or operations role
* Bachelor’s degree OR at least 1-2 years of applicable experience
* Superb organizational skills and attention to detail
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
* Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
* Creative problem-solver with the capacity to find and apply innovative solutions
* Ability to work independently and learn new skills on your own
* Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior experience working at a travel company with references
Compensation/Benefits:
* Salary: $35,000 - $45,000
