I'm Philipp Meier, a Phuket-based travel journalist. I write engaging and easy-to-read blog posts, web content and features for the travel industry, which inspires readers to book their next holiday. As a big fan of independent travel, I'm passionate about Thai culture and wandering off Thailand's well-trodden tourist trail.
While I specialise in round-ups and features that centre on Thailand, I used to write about the best beaches and hotels in Europe and the States for Culture Trip (I still work with Culture Trip, though pen sponsored posts (theculturetrip.com/asia/thailand/articles/best-cultural-experiences-in-thailand) for the time being. As a travel scribe who was born and bred in Basel, I'd also be keen to craft stories on Switzerland.
My work has appeared in publications worldwide, including CNN Travel, Lonely Planet, TimeOut, Escape, National Geographic Traveller India, South China Morning Post, Travel+Leisure India & South Asia, and inflight magazines such as Sawasdee (Thai Airways) and Cathay (Cathay Pacific Airways). I regularly contribute to TimeOut Thailand and am a Lonely Planet destination expert. I have co-authored two Lonely Planet (and Fodor's Travel) guidebooks.
Do you need an adventure travel or foodie feature, round-up, hotel or cafe description, culture piece, or profile to engage new audiences? Check out my clips on linktr.ee/writerphilippmeier, and shoot me an email at writerphilippmeier(at)gmail(dot)com.
