After spending 10 years in corporate, I ditched the suit and tie for a chef’s jacket. The kitchen opened a new world of flavour to me and honed my already hungry palate. But I yearned for more interaction and stimulation than could be found in the kitchen. Let's just say that broccoli and carrots were not the best conversation starters! I launched 'Eat like a local' in 2017, inspired by food tours I did in a number of other countries. ‘Eat like a local’ was born from my desire to bring food and people together by focusing on great ingredients, real food, passionate restaurateur’s and artisanal suppliers in my adopted home, Cape Town. My tours now allow me to engage in all my favourite things such as discovering new flavours, interacting with people and showing them how to eat, experience and explore the Mother City 'like a local'.
