At 16 I traveled solo to Europe for three months - which was so long ago that few people did any international travel. Very few. (And yes, I am THAT old). It was so shocking that this shy and bullied kid did anything like that, that when I was waiting for my parents to come to the gate to pick me up at the airport (there was a time that it was possible to do that), that they looked me right in the eye, and walked right past me. I had transformed my entire being after that trip. But I still got searched for smuggling. (not my last time being searched).
I have waited for forever to retire and wander around the world. Though even when I worked I did a pretty significant amount of travel as I made it a priority. I became an expert and pioneer in my niche area of architecture, which resulted in lecturing around the world.

Why did you join the community?
Q&AI have traveled to 89 countries, with seven more already planned for this year. After two years of no travel due to covid and two more years of training for my second degree black belt, I have a lot to time to make up. I recently returned from my second trip to Antarctica. And want to go back again!
