I'm co-founder of 'the third half' which is a soccer-based adventure travel company with a social purpose. I have spent the last decade working as a journalist and NGO manager in the field of 'soccer for good'. I'm a passionate believer that there is no other social phenomenon with the same power as soccer to connect people across boundaries of nationality, race, culture and religion. Some of the experiences that gave me the greatest sense of global citizenship came about through soccer and after years of working in the NGO sector and seeing the same struggles year in, year out I created a social enterprise designed to take international travelers on a journey of social education through the world's common language, whilst at the same time generating vital funds for community-based non-profits using the game to tackle social issues like disease, gender inequality and social injustice.
