I'm La Carmina, an Asian-Canadian SATW-award-winning travel journalist (National Geographic, The New York Times, Travel + Leisure, BBC, Time Mag), leading digital creator/blogger (@lacarmina and lacarmina.com) and the author of three books with Simon & Schuster and Penguin Random House. Based in Vancouver, I specialize in stories about alt culture / travel -- and have worked with tourism boards and companies worldwide.

What is your favorite travel destination?

I can't name one, but loved Easter Island, Egypt, Morocco, and of course Japan (one of my main focuses on my LaCarmina travel blog)

Where do you dream of traveling to?

It would be great to visit Antarctica before it collapses. I've been to over 70 countries so far and every continent except this.

What was your first travel job?

I started my La Carmina blog, and as it grew, I got more chances to travel and work as a brand ambassador, television host, travel writer and digital influencer such as Instagram campaigns.

What do you want to learn more about?

Always keen to meet others and keep up to date with the latest tech and trends in tech, travel, tourism.

Three words that describe why we should travel?

Flexibility of mind.
