Hi, I’m Jason. I split my time between the U.S., Thailand, and Vietnam, and over the past two decades have worked across tech, startups, and policy, shaped by years of building and traveling internationally.
Through our firm, Garden District Ventures, we invest in startups and challenger brands across Emerging Asia and beyond, focused on the everyday systems that shape how people eat, move, shop, and live. I’ve been fortunate to visit 58 countries, and travel continues to shape how I understand people, markets, and place.
In 2024, I was diagnosed with cancer for the second time. This May, in support of Movember and men’s health, I created and will be taking on The Lycian Way Challenge, a 540-kilometer trek along Türkiye’s ancient coastal trading route. Movember has recognized the Challenge as one of their largest events globally this year.
If you’d like to learn more, become a sponsor, or support the effort, you can find more details at www.lycianwaychallenge.com. I’m grateful for the encouragement and support along the way, so thank you.
Amsterdam in the middle of spring for sidewalk cafés and long walks along the canals, and Istanbul in the fall when the crowds thin and the city feels deeply local.
Martinique and Guadeloupe to go sail in the Martinique Yoles Boat Race.
I previously founded and ran COMPASS Transportation, a transportation and limousine company based in Charleston, South Carolina. We built and operated a local fleet, worked with top events across the region, and developed a transportation network spanning more than 600 cities worldwide before selling the business in 2014.
How people move through cities, how local systems really work, and what you only notice when you slow down and stay long enough to belong rather than pass through.
Perspective, connection, humility.
Ian - I'd love to help with this Travel Massive effort and have been training a model ahead of my Lycian Way Challenge in May that will aggregate and help answer common questions from the trail. Let's connect soon!
Hey Daniel – I replied to your post on your app with my WhatsApp number if you’d like to get together. Cheers.
