Travel has quietly shaped nearly every part of my life — from the way I see the world to the work I’ve built around it. It really kicked off in high school, when I joined a cultural exchange trip through England and Scotland. I thought I was just tagging along to play basketball, but being dropped into a totally new environment cracked something open for me. Since then, I’ve made it to 20 countries, worked in travel for over a decade, and can confirm that nothing builds empathy faster than sharing a zipline with a stranger who’s also screaming.
I got my start in travel in 2013 as a GM at a tour company on the Big Island of Hawaii (not a bad gig). In 2015, I launched The Booking Ninja — a boutique call center for tour operators — and spent nearly six years helping 60+ companies across the U.S. keep their bookings and sanity intact. These days I’m the co-founder of Chirrup, a two-way texting tool for tour & activity businesses. Think of it like your front desk assistant… if they were really good at texting.
I’m also a self-taught full stack developer who accidentally made coding a career. Now I split my time between writing code, helping tour operators grow, and nerding out on all things travel.
