Adrienne Barile is a Washington, DC–based travel writer, photographer, content creator, and licensed drone operator. She is the founder of The Haphazard Traveler, where she creates destination-focused travel content through in-depth articles, photography, short-form video, drone imagery, and social storytelling.
Her work reaches 250,000+ readers and viewers each month across her blog, social platforms, Yahoo Creator features, and freelance publishing channels. She focuses on cultural travel, boutique and luxury-leaning stays, culinary travel, city breaks, and under-the-radar destinations that give travelers a specific reason to go.
Adrienne is a Yahoo Creator, Fodor’s video contributor, member of SATW and NATJA, and licensed drone pilot in the US, EU, and UK. She has also worked with destinations, hotels, tourism boards, and travel brands on sponsored campaigns, editorial-style storytelling, photography, video, social content, and licensed visual assets.
Before launching The Haphazard Traveler, Adrienne traveled internationally for work in recruitment, which led to her first trip abroad with a passport and eventually inspired her to start blogging.
Why did you join the community?
Q&AI joined Travel Massive to connect with travel industry professionals across media, destinations, hospitality, tours, and other creators. As a travel writer, photographer, content creator, and licensed drone operator, I’m interested in thoughtful partnerships, fresh editorial angles, and conversations shaping how people discover and plan travel.
What is your favorite travel destination?
Q&AMexico is my favorite travel destination because it rewards repeat visits. I’m drawn to its food, architecture and design, archaeology, culture, landscapes, and regional variety, from Mexico City and Oaxaca to beach towns, colonial cities, and lesser-known places that deserve more attention.
Where do you dream of traveling to?
Q&AEverywhere, honestly. But I’m especially drawn to places with strong food culture, deep history, distinctive design, and landscapes I can explore with a camera and drone. My dream list is always changing, which is probably why I keep working in travel.
What was your first travel job?
Q&AMy first travel job was international recruitment. Traveling for work introduced me to the logistics, cultural awareness, and curiosity that still shape how I approach travel today, and it eventually inspired me to start blogging.
Three words that describe why we should travel?
Q&ACuriosity, connection, perspective
