I'm the solo builder behind Routinex, an AI-powered travel planner built around verified venues (not AI-invented ones), neighborhood-based day planning, and a Cruise Port mode that plans around your ship's arrival and departure. By day, I'm a data analyst for a school district, with 15+ years there and 20+ years in tech overall — Routinex has been my way of putting that background to use on something I'm personally invested in. I travel mostly with family, and I'm the type to chase good food, dig into local history, people-watch for way too long, and catch a sports event if one's happening nearby. The last several months building this have been a crash course in prompt engineering, API costs, and getting AI to sound like someone who's actually been to the places it's recommending, not a brochure. Always up for a laugh and a good conversation about travel or tech.
Why did you join the community?
Q&AI'm building Routinex, an AI-assisted trip-planning app that helps groups plan itineraries together instead of piecing trips together across YouTube vlogs, Reddit threads, and travel blogs. I'm looking to connect with other travel industry founders and creators, get feedback from people who actually plan travel for a living, and learn from a community that's further along in building and growing travel products. I'd also love to share what I'm building and be part of the conversation as I keep developing it.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Planning a trip used to mean hours (sometimes days) of YouTube vlogs, Reddit threads, and blog posts, piecing together a day-by-day plan from a dozen different sources. Some people genuinely love that process.... show more
