What if you could discover a city without planning a tour, and simply let the stories come to you?

Hi Travel Massive community,

After months of discussing the idea with travelers, friends and potential users, I’ve just launched the first version of Street Whisperer, a new mobile app designed to make exploring a city more spontaneous and immersive.

The idea is simple:

📍 Walk freely through a city or neighborhood
🏛️ Street Whisperer identifies interesting places around you
🎧 It tells you the stories behind them, primarily through audio
🚶 You keep walking and exploring instead of constantly looking at your phone

The inspiration came from something I often experience while traveling.

I’ll be walking through an unfamiliar neighborhood and wonder:

What happened here?
Why is this building important?
Who lived here?
Is there a story behind this street that I would otherwise completely miss?

Most travel guides work by asking you to decide where you want to go first.

With Street Whisperer, I wanted to explore the opposite approach:

You don’t follow the tour. The tour follows you.

The goal is not to replace traditional guides or curated experiences, but to create another way of discovering a destination — more spontaneous, contextual and compatible with simply wandering around.

AI tools and agents played an important role in building the product, but one thing was particularly important to me: I didn’t want Street Whisperer to become another generic, fully automated “AI travel app”.

The product, UX, positioning and overall experience have been shaped through months of conversations with real people and continuous iteration.

Now that the first version is out, I’d especially value feedback from people working in travel, tourism, destination experiences and travel tech.
