Ninh Binh: Is Vietnam’s “Ha Long Bay on Land” becoming too touristy?

I’ve been spending more time looking at Ninh Binh (a province in northern Vietnam) from a tour operator’s perspective, and I’m curious what other travel professionals think.

Trang An, Tam Coc, Mua Cave… the scenery is incredible. But with visitor numbers growing, I wonder:

Are we promoting Ninh Binh in the right way, or are we creating another “must-see” destination where everyone follows the same route, takes the same photos, and leaves?

For me, the more interesting Ninh Binh is not just:

🚣 Trang An boat ride
📸 Mua Cave viewpoint
🏯 Hoa Lu Ancient Capital

It’s the quieter side, cycling through villages, meeting local families, rice fields, traditional food, and simply slowing down.
