After spending several weeks exploring and photographing these amazing granitic islands for the Seychelles Tourism Board, I created a shortlist of the best beaches. Located in the heart of the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles is home to some of the most beautiful and unique beaches in the world.

Picture the Seychelles—endless white sands, those classic granite boulders, and waters so clear you won’t believe your eyes. But, with so many beaches spread across Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue, it can be tough to know where to start.

I’ve narrowed it down to my top 10, picking beaches with unique vibes, easy access, or incredible views. Plus, I’ll mention a few accommodation spots nearby, so you’re never too far from a place to crash after a day in paradise.

1. Anse Major, Mahé
This one’s for the adventure seekers. Anse Major is only reachable by a scenic coastal trail—a bit of a trek but absolutely worth it. The turquoise water here is incredibly clear, and the surrounding mountains make it feel like you’ve stumbled on a hidden corner of paradise. Not the easiest to get to, but if you’re up for it, it’s a gem.

2. Beau Vallon, Mahé
Beau Vallon is Mahé’s beach hub, with loads of activity and plenty of places to grab a drink and chill. It’s also perfect if you’re into watersports. Plus, you’ve got everything close by—restaurants, weekly markets, and resorts. This beach has a fun, lively vibe, and the sunset views are incredible.

3. Petite Anse, Mahé
Nestled by the Four Seasons, Petite Anse is open to the public, even though it’s tucked away within the resort’s grounds. It’s quiet, pristine, and perfect for those laid-back beach days. If you’re after somewhere romantic to catch a sunset, this is one of the best spots.

4. Anse Intendance, Mahé
Anse Intendance has that wild, untouched beauty. Tall palms, huge waves, and fewer crowds make it ideal if you’re looking for a secluded beach vibe. The waves are pretty intense, so this one’s best for surfers and strong swimmers.

5. Anse Lazio, Praslin
You’ll see Anse Lazio on just about every Seychelles beach list, and for good reason. It’s postcard-perfect, with white sands, clear waters, and those famous granite rocks. Great for swimming and snorkeling, and you’re just a short drive from Cote D’Or if you’re looking for a base nearby.

6. Cote D'Or Beach, Praslin
Known locally as Anse Volbert, Cote D'Or is where most of Praslin’s resorts are, so it’s a convenient and gorgeous spot to stay. The beach stretches on and on, making it a great option for a sunset walk or just a day spent lounging. Plus, it’s one of the best beaches for families since the water is calm and shallow.

7. Anse Georgette, Praslin
For a more exclusive feel, head to Anse Georgette. It’s a bit tricky to access unless you’re staying at the Constance Lemuria Resort or up for a hike, but it’s absolutely stunning and a lot quieter than the other popular beaches. Worth the effort if you want a more serene beach experience.

8. Anse Source D’Argent, La Digue
The most iconic beach in the Seychelles, Anse Source D’Argent is famous for its granite boulders and clear, shallow lagoon. You’ll pay a small entry fee to access it via the L’Union Estate, but it’s a must-see. The shallow waters make it perfect for a relaxed swim, and the whole area has a magical vibe.

9. Grand Anse, La Digue
Grand Anse on La Digue has a different vibe—more rugged, with big waves and deep turquoise water. It’s quieter than Anse Source D’Argent but equally beautiful. There are some great hiking trails nearby, too, so you can explore more of the island if you’re feeling up for it.

10. Anse St. Jose, Curieuse Island
Accessible via a short boat ride from Praslin, Anse St. Jose on Curieuse Island is like something from a nature documentary. It’s a top spot for snorkeling, with a good chance of seeing turtles and even a few reef sharks. Curieuse is known for its wild tortoises, so if you’re into wildlife, this one’s a must.
