It's encouraging to see so many Founders and business owners part of this travel community. I often wonder how the overall experience in establishing, managing and growing a tech company on the road is different to if you were stationed in one city.
Do you have access to the same resources?
Can you validate the same way?
What are the differences in raising capital?
How will you find a co-founder?
What if all your customers and partners are in one country?
I was recently invited to be part of a startup accelerator program in my home city of Sydney, Australia. And while the idea of a product I built helped me get into the program (not the only reason), the program itself was more focused on developing new ideas through finding a co-founder, conceptualizing an idea, validating said idea and eventually (potentially) getting a term sheet.
Ultimately, aside from the in-person co-founder matching activities, I found there was no real need to be physically present. However, If you...

I am Danilo founder of Fly Match..
Fly Match is a free app that can be used by any travelers that would like to meet through matching and want to share and receive tips through the travel wall. There are extra features that allow travelers to have information handy while traveling. The app automatically detected the closest hospital and pharmacies next to you, as well as give the possibility to have an emergency contact that through a SOS button can be contacted. Many other features such as booking of hotels, flights, rental cars and info for the visa of your destination ease the journey for each type of traveler.
👉 Please let me know what do you think about this project!
Hi Danilo,
I installed your app, and it’s very underwhelming. The member profiles have almost no information, and the two chat groups are inactive with one of them asking to call someone’s phone number. Very sketchy.
Are you really in charge of this app? It does not seem to be maintained - I’m kinda struggling to find a valuable feature. Maybe I’m missing something but what you’ve advertised is very different to the actual experience.
Hi Ian, thanks for your feedback. I always appreciate to receive it. I’m sorry to hear that is underwelmhing, the app has the match profile which it depends on users to upload information or not. The chat groups it depends also on users. The App has only 2000 users as it is new and trying to improve it through marketing. Therefore it needs a boost of users in order to be used and have information inside, unfortunately such kind of apps are more useful with a higher number of users. Also the first class is another part that allow you to have information for a trip.
Hi Danilo,
Here's some feedback .
1. I tried changing my country (switched from Australia to Italy) but the "Travel Wall" still shows two the same two groups — "Houston" and "Long Beach". The group called "Houston" is created by a member called "Dora" and the profile says "my name is Annabelle I'm from the UK I'm single and you" while the profile location displays China. If you want users to upgrade to a premium profile and provide personal contact details for an SOS service, then you've already scared them away.
2. The app feels more like a dating app, as I'm presented with profiles of (mostly) women and the primary action is "match". When I click "match", the profile I clicked on disappears and there's no feedback presented to me about what happened.
In summary, I don't get a feeling that this is a travel app — and if the travel features are paywalled, I am not going to upgrade to access them, as I can find those features on Google. The fake / spam content will scare users away from your app and make them less likely to upgrade.
If you are aiming for a freemium business model, then your "free" needs to be "wow" / amazing / spam free, and the "paid" needs to add more value or solve a pain point.
My suggestion would be to interview as many of your users as possible, and get as much information about as you can about their user journey and feedback. Then take all that feedback and make improvements.
Hope this helps and good luck!
Great idea! Will try it out
Thanks , any suggestions are more than welcome!
This app sounds great!
Hi Alyson, thank you!!
