Join Portland Travel Massive on Wednesday, November 4th for networking, culture and a little whimsy at Nordic Northwest.

Originally founded to support the Nordic language programs at Portland State University in 1986, Nordic Northwest has become a cultural hub for Nordic culture throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. Members and non-members alike can visit for a wide range of events, from concerts and film screenings to lectures and classes, as well as the annual Midsummer festival in June and a Christmas market in December. You may have also seen Nordic Northwest’s resident troll, Ole Bolle, acting mischievously in the “village” grounds.

This evening you will mix and mingle with fellow Portland Travel Massive members and enjoy a no host bar while learning about Nordic Norwest’s mission of celebrating all things nordic. Enjoy our exclusive after-hours access to the property and stroll through the ethnic lodges from Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway and Sweden, or pay a visit to Olle Bolle’s house. We are also invited to view the center’s current exhibit, A Long Line: Nordic Fishing Culture Then & Now, which explores the history of fishing in both the Nordic countries and as well as the Pacific Northwest.
