Following the success of our half-day mini conference in London, the Travel Massive Future Barcamp lands in Sydney!
Join us for a 3 hour barcamp where we deep dive into the future of travel in 2017. What trends should we focus on? What should we be working on right now to capture the next wave of travel innovation and disruption?
WHAT IS A BARCAMP?
Barcamps are hands-on event where every attendee is a participant. This is a collaborative event where members can share their collective knowledge in a number of breakout sessions focussing on the future of travel.
Sessions will be based on interactive "microhacks" and "mini presentations" and run by the attendees. At the start of the event, we will pitch and vote on what microhacks and presentations we want to work on and share.
MICROHACKS AND MINI PRESENTATIONS:
- "Micro hacks" - collaborative expert brainstorm to discuss and solve a particular topic.
- "Mini presentations" - sharing a skill or knowledge to other members.
Microhack ideas:
- Predicting the top destinations trends in 2017 - outbound and inbound breakout sessions
- Deep dive into the future of customer acquisition strategies for travel (platform vs search?)
Mini-presentation ideas:
- Sydney's new ICC - a new wave of conference travel
- How to tap into Tasmania's booming tourism trend
- Building your own messenger bot in 20 minutes
- The new power (and distribution) of travel video
- How to work with journalists and PR to reach the masses
- Navigating the distribution battle in 2017 - meta-search vs OTAs go head to head
Registered members will be provided with a link to a Google Doc to add and share topic suggestions before the event.
At the end of the day, we'll grab some beers together and share the the output of each breakout session!
PROGRAM:
3.00pm - 3:15pm: Welcome and member introductions
3:15pm - 3:30pm: Barcamp planning - pitch and vote for microhacks and mini-presentations
3:30pm - 4:15pm: Mini Presentations
4:15pm - 5:00pm: Breakout sessions #1
5:00pm - 5:30pm: Breakout sessions #2
5:30pm - 6:00pm: Wrap-up mini talks from sessions, followed by barcamp drinks!

This is an interactive event so the success of it depends on your level of interaction. We're going to make stuff up as we go. The WiFI might drop out. Not everything will go to plan. But that's half the fun :)
