About this event

We have partnered with our friends at South Dakota Tourism for a rocking event showcasing the rugged beauty, rich heritage and cuisine of the Mount Rushmore State at the Gem Saloon on Wednesday, February 21, from 6:30 - 8:30 PM.

Just after Presidents’ Day no less, find out why South Dakota, home to Mount Rushmore and the City of Presidents, is the next destination to add to your 2018 bucket list. Serving themed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and Mount Rushmore’s ice cream using Thomas Jefferson’s original recipe, get a taste of the frontier while learning about the state’s iconic attractions, road trip itineraries, rich culture and upcoming milestones including:

● South Dakota's Great 8 attractions: Jewel Cave National Monument, Wind Cave National Park, Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Crazy Horse Memorial, Badlands National Park, Custer State Park, the Missouri River and Historic Deadwood

● Crazy Horse Memorial - 70th Anniversary: 2018 marks 70 years since the first blast on the mountain at Crazy Horse Memorial, making it the year to visit the world’s largest mountain carving in progress

● Custer State Park’s 53rd Annual Buffalo Roundup: Each September, more than 21,000 spectators gather to witness one of the country’s largest publicly-owned bison herd stampede through the park

● Road trip down the I-29 Cultural Corridor or visit South Dakota's quirky roadside attractions along I-90: Wall Drug, The World’s Only Corn Palace, Pioneer Auto & The 1880 Town

Attendees to the event will be able to enjoy take away treats such as delicious fudge donated courtesy of Wall Drug and coffee courtesy of coffee roasting company Cherry Bean.

South Dakota (www.travelsouthdakota.com) is home to majestic mountain carvings, rolling prairies, sky-piercing granite needles, glittering lakes and the Mighty Missouri River. Located in the heart of the American frontier, South Dakota can also lay claim to one of the largest concentrations of public parks, monuments and memorials in the world, one of which is Mount Rushmore National Memorial.
