About this event

Crete Travel Massive is collaborating with the European Sustainability Academy (ESA) to host the first “Empowering Women in Tourism” seminar on Sunday, 17th of September 2017 from 2.30pm to 6.30pm.

We are organizing a workshop for women in tourism as a ‘bonus’ event as part of ESA 5th Women Empowerment – Global Summit which will take place between 15th – 17th September 2017. Inspirational women gather at this event from across the world to exchange their stories and techniques of self-empowerment.
Tourism is one of the world's largest economic sectors. International trends see the emergence of tourism as an important instrument for sustainable development including poverty alleviation, employment generation, environmental regeneration and advancement of women.

Being a key driver of our economy, the tourism sector has immense potential to fast-track radical economic and social transformation. With a workforce comprised largely of women operating at the lower levels of the value chain, it is incumbent on our sector to lead the process of gender equality and transformation that will result in more women taking up executive positions.

At this event, we will examine the importance of women in the tourism sector, analyze and evaluate the reasons for, and constraints to, women’s vertical mobility. We will explore the issues facing women in tourism and present some practical guidance.

Our aim is to bring diverse women together to share the issues and to find solutions to the challenges that hinder their entrepreneurial progress in the sector.

As well as interactive discussion and inspiring speakers from tourism, you will benefit from 2 interactive ‘new skills learning’ sessions from the highest m quality, international business women who will share their tools and techniques for ‘self- empowerment’.

1. Executive Coach and Business Mentor, Ramona da Gama will show you ‘How to Build Your Confidence and Change Your Life’. You will learn how to develop your ‘Personal Brand’ and how to make the most of your ‘Signature Strengths’ to overcome the challenges and obstacles you face and to be clear about your Vision.
2. Mi Elfverson, Film maker and Photographer, will guide you in ‘How to Shine your Light’ through Vlogging with your smart phones. Based on understanding ‘messages people engage with’, she will show the ‘tricks’ and ‘techniques’ to why some Vlogs getting more than 5000 views while others get very few.

Join us on this Sunday evening with super speakers, amazing local wines, finger food and networking.
