Tonya Fitzpatrick is an award-winning travel content creator, journalist, photographer and co-founder of World Footprints (WorldFootprints.com), a social-impact travel media platform. She co-hosts its award-winning podcast with her husband, Ian, exploring culture, inclusive travel and destination stewardship.
Tonya is the author of Destination Stewardship: Drive Sustainability, Economic Renewal, and Cultural Integrity (Kogan Page, 2026), featuring a foreword by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and a starred Kirkus review. She serves on the Maryland Tourism Development Board and is a three-time TEDx presenter.
An international speaker, Tonya has addressed Destinations International and SATW, guest lectured at NYU’s Tisch Center of Hospitality, and joined the “Unlocking Tourism Revenue for Destination Resilience: What Does It Take?” roundtable at Cornell Atkinson’s 2026 Climate Week Summit. She also served as a delegate to the UN Commission on the Status of Women.
