I’ve always had the itch to build something of my own. I’ve started things, failed at things, learned from all of it and kept going. After years working in staffing, I picked up a lot about how people move, live, and make decisions… but something always felt off. Then I became a parent.
Travel flipped overnight. It wasn’t just about booking a cool place anymore it had to actually work for us. Somewhere safe, affordable, with space to breathe. But with travel prices up nearly 40% since 2019, Airbnb’s fees getting ridiculous, and hotels charging extra for everything, I found myself asking: why is this so expensive and why hasn’t anyone fixed it?
That’s where hoppswap came from. A way to swap homes with people like you no nightly fees, no fluff, just real homes, real savings, and a way to travel that actually makes sense.
I attended my first meet-up in Bristol, since then and because I work in this area I want to learn, connect and enjoy myself with other like-minded folks.

Yeah 100% security is a big blocker and I’ve heard similar feedback from others on why they sign up, browse, but then maybe don’t end up swapping. For us it’s also who you’re actually swapping with that matters more than the property. One of the thin... show more
