The best way to describe me is a worldly wordsmith. I was born in Singapore, and I've been traveling ever since. Currently, I am a freelance writer and editor based in New York City.

In the past, I have worked as a researcher at National Geographic Traveler magazine in Washington, D.C., and as a writer at Vault.com in New York. Among my clients are educational tour company Academic Arrangements Abroad.

In May, 2005, I received an MA in print journalism (magazine writing emphasis) from the University of Missouri-Columbia. I also earned an MFA in Fiction Writing from the University of Virginia in 2001. In 1998 I graduated from Brown University with a degree in Comparative Literature.
